Title & Registration For Trade-In Vehicle
If have a different car that you’re planning to trade to the dealership in exchange for your new ride, you should have the vehicle on hand, along with its title and registration. This is not only proof you own it, but allows you to turn ownership over to the dealership.
Account Number for Trade-In Loan
Similarly to the above, if you’re still paying back a loan on the trade-in vehicle, it’s a good idea to have the account number for the loan handy for the dealership. If possible, call the lender and let them know you’re trading in the vehicle. .
License & Proof of Insurance
Your driver’s license and insurance card are both proof that you can actually drive your new ride home. It’s also best to set up your insurance on the new car in advance if you know for sure that it’s the one you want.
Method of Payment
This one seems obvious, but it’s important enough to warrant its own mention anyway. When you are actually purchasing your brand new car, you need to pay for it! This covers everything from cash to the pre-approval check given to you by a lender.
